Q. How do I get a copy of a masters thesis or doctoral dissertation that is not available online?

Answer

Can I get a digitized copy of a thesis or dissertation that is only available in print?

If the ASU Library only has paper copies of a thesis or dissertation, and if the item was not submitted by the author to ProQuest Dissertations & Theses...

Current ASU students, faculty, or staff:

  • You may submit an Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) request for the item. We will try to find a copy for you to borrow.
  • If it is an ASU masters thesis or doctoral dissertation:
    • You may contact our University Archives with your request.
      • Depending upon copyright restrictions, University Archives may be able to duplicate part or all of a thesis or dissertation with a per page charge plus postage/handling.
      • Email:    archives@asu.edu
      • Phone:  480-965-4932

Other researchers:

Check with your local public library or academic institution with whom you are affiliated. They may have an interlibrary loan service to meet your needs.
